Sara Dunlap-Bogan is the founder and director of Luminous Theatre Ensemble. She earned an MA in Theatre Education at Emerson College and a BA in Performance Studies from Louisiana State University. Sara has taught students at all levels, ages 4-18, in schools and performing arts organizations. She was honored to accept Seattle’s 5th Ave Theatre’s award for Outstanding Educator in 2020 for her work at Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, WA. Sara believes the arts in education are not an “extra” but essential. With the founding of the Luminous Theatre Ensemble, Sara hopes to give students more opportunities to collaborate and create meaningful art. When she isn’t doing theatre, Sara loves spending time with her husband and kids, doing restoration work in the forest, and visiting the ocean.

We aim to empower students to tell their stories, embrace differences, learn from one another, and live authentically. As a living organization, we are eager to learn and adapt accordingly.
